gamezone: The Simpsons Arcade Game Review

Its been requested for like the longest time, and for good reason. Konamis 1991 arcade take on The Simpsons is, without a doubt, one of the best video games the animated family has ever seen. Granted, thats mostly because the home games featuring the likes of Homer, Bart and the rest of the clan have outright sucked, namely garbage like Virtual Bart and Bart vs. the Space Mutants. Konami was just able to get that certain something that made them click, rather than surrounding them with lame gameplay aspects.

New, lovely fan trailer for Cube World

DSOGaming writes: "I tell you, I can keep watching to this trailer for hours. Hell, I can keep watching someone playing Cube World all day as Wollays indie title is simply wonderful. Seriously, each and every new footage from it gets me excited and this could very well be the Minecraft of 2012 provided it gets exposed to even more gamers."

A.D.D. Gamers Reviews Dungeon King: Dreadstorm Keep by Bullet Proof Arcade

In A.D.D. Gamers latest review, I took a look at a small flash game called Dungeon King: Dreadstorm Keep by Bullet Proof Arcade. They specialize in making very fun and addictive flash games. In this game, you are an explorer/adventurer, who I can only assume is venturing into this dungeon to complete his quest and vanquish any beast that dares step into his path.

New drooling community screenshots for Project CARS

DSOGaming writes: "Even though Slightly Mad Studios released some screenshots to show off the 'Ultra detail' of Project CARS' latest build, its community went ahead and captured their own images. As usual, the community screenshots are miles better than the official ones and show off better the new, Ultra detail settings. And although Project CARS looks amazing, we have to admit that the trees need a little more polish. Thankfully, Slightly Mad Studios promised to further enhance the environments in the upcoming versions of the game. But for now, enjoy the following screenshots!"

Dont Quit Your Day Job: Defenders Quest Interview (TruePCGaming)

James Cavin, Lars Doucet and Anthony Pecorella bring their RPG title, Defenders Quest, to life in this detailed interview. You will read about how Defenders Quest came to be, the struggles of indie development, their thoughts on the PC gaming industry and so much more. Here is a slice: Did you research similar titles when trying to come up with the launch price? Anthony Actually, we are now launched at an open beta price of $6.99. Well eventually go up to $9.99 when we do the full gold launch with the rest of our features. The opinions we got online tended to echo this the $5 $20 range is about right for solid indie games I think, with the >$10 range really being for the ones that had a good-sized team and a significant budget behind them, or are just that awesome (like Gratuitous Space Battles, by one-man-wonder Cliffski).

A profile of a death machine named "The Hammer"

Bitmob - I know a gamer that me and my friends call "The Hammer." The Hammer received this name because of his blunt-force approach toward gaming. He cares only for violence and death. He has no time for story, characters, graphics, level design, sound, checkpoints, or upgrades. He just wants to shoot people...as many people as possible.

Good writing is the future of gaming

Bitmob - Picture yourself immersed in a new game, and so far its good. It plays well, has a fun combat system, and a world thats engaging. Everything seems right. Everything seems to work. So you play on, beat a boss, solve a puzzle, or just somehow progress the story forward when it happens and everything goes horribly, horribly wrong. It tends to be during a beautifully rendered cut-scene, when youre marveling at the artwork and at the graphics. Suddenly...BAM! A bad line of dialogue ruins your experience forever. It feels like getting punched by a dinosaur.

The fifth Resident Evil film is set to hit cinemas this November. Unfortunately, while this series is a commercial success it has been running on empty, creatively. Lets look at 5 reasons where it all went wrong...

High Horse: When did $10 become a cheap XBLA/PSN download?

Henry Gilbert: When it first launched, I was pretty dubious of the 360s software line-up. Perfect Dark Zero was a bust, games like Gun and King Kong didnt look all that improved compared to the Xbox versions, and the less said about Kameo the better. Just as I was deciding dismiss the 360 until the real games started coming out, I kept hearing from friends and reading online that easily the must-own launch game was a title called Geometry Wars. The best part? It was only five dollars.
